You shoot. I edit.
It’s so awesome that you are making the move towards outsourcing your editing work. I know how overwhelming a photographer’s workload is, and it’s time to take back your life!
There are so many advantages to outsourcing your editing:
You have time to grow your business
You can step away from the computer and stop missing out on family time
Your edits will be more consistent because you’ll never be rushing to finish a gallery
Your clients will be thrilled with the quick turnaround time
The biggest advantages to working with a personal editor instead of one of the larger companies is consistency and communication. You will always be working with me (and only me). I encourage open communication with my clients, and I’m always asking for feedback to help us perfect the process.
I work one-on-one with each of my clients to establish a partnership in their editing process. Your edits will completely match your style and the look you are known for.
The only difference your clients will notice will be the faster turnaround time in your gallery deliveries.
You’ll notice that you get more sleep and have quite a bit more free time on your calendar.
That sounds like a win to me!
I would love to set up a Skype or FaceTime call with you! We can talk about your editing style and what your needs are, and I can explain my processes and how everything works.
If none of these work with your schedule, let me know and we will set up a more convenient time for us to talk pixels.
Still got questions? I'm all ears!
I am a St. Louis-based wedding and portrait photographer who specializes in documenting modern wedding stories. I have a fine arts degree in Photography and a BA in Photojournalism, as well as 15+ years of photography experience under my camera strap. I have photographed over 150 weddings in the last three years alone.
I offer photographer mentoring for wedding and portrait photographers needing guidance with business and/or technical aspects of photography. I also offer editing mentoring for those looking to nail their post processing style.
Running a business is difficult, especially in today’s market. You don’t have to learn things the hard way- like I did. Mentoring sessions are about helping you grow as a photographer and a business owner.
Currently, I am offering several different types of mentoring sessions, which are perfect for both local and non-local photographers.
Q&A Phone Calls
1:1 Business Mentoring
1:1 Shooting + Editing Mentoring
1:1 Editing Mentoring
With 1:1 Editing Mentoring, we will go over your entire post-processing workflow, from importing to editing to exporting. I will help nail down the editing style you want, and maintain consistency in your editing.
Editing Mentoring is an on-going process that takes time to perfect!
Editing Mentoring is best when done in-person, but can also be done via Skype or FaceTime. Email me for more information!
Q&A phone calls are 45 minutes of picking my brain about anything, from what’s in my camera bag, to post processing workflow. We’ll talk about your strengths, and where you want to improve, then set a game plan. I’ll check on you weekly via email, then a few weeks later, I’ll follow-up with a 15 minute phone call. If you’re in the St. Louis, MO area, we can meet up and chat in person, preferably over my favorite things- coffee and dessert :)
1:1 Business Mentoring is more in-depth than the Q&A Phone call. We we will go over all aspects of your business, from the initial client inquiry to everything behind the scenes. We will have (3) 45 minute phone calls, as well as email correspondence. Business mentoring also includes a contract review, a website review and a portfolio review.
With 1:1 Shooting + Editing Mentoring, we will go over the whole shooting shebang: camera settings, composition, basic posing, as well as post-processing workflow and editing. We will have a 60 minute shooting session with a real live model, and a 90 minute post-processing session. *Please note: Shooting + Editing Mentoring Sessions must take place in St. Louis, Missouri. You will also need a laptop with Lightroom and Photoshop, as I do all of my post-processing in LR and PS.
For Website Reviews, I will look over your entire website, including copy, layout, and menus. I’ll let you know what works, and what tweaks and changes you can make to polish up your home on the interwebs.
